Decorative raku range

The raku process used to produce this range is derived from the ancient Japanese
technique where the ceramic piece is taken red hot from the kiln.  Using this technique
I then place the hot pot into a combustable material, such as sawdust, which produces
a distinctive crackle glaze contrasting with a smoked finish to the unglazed areas.
Each piece is entirely handmade. Designs range from quirky hanging fish, birds,
chickenspigs and hearts to more sculptural figures, individual decorative bowls
and vessels.
My collection of fun and informal ceramic jewellery is a new popular addition. A varied
range is available from shops and galleries, but the best selling pieces can be
purchased direct from this website and are easily posted.

Please note. Raku glaze colours and the shade of the smoked finish will be unique for every piece
produced and may vary from examples shown. This is unavoidable and inherent in the raku process
and also subject to your computor's colour display properties, but every effort is made to match the examples shown. Dimensions given are approximate and may vary.
